I take hardware from a blank sheet through analysis, prototyping and iteration to manufactured, tested parts, including precision work to tight tolerances. Interested in aerospace, robotics and consumer hardware.
Each write-up covers the requirements, design decisions, numbers, testing and results.
Mechanical, electrical and software work for a deep-tech reactor startup: a coaxial reactor housing designed for 10 bar, an automated furnace controller, a rebuilt 50 kV electrospinner, an ultrasonic coating rig and the lab's instrumentation.

A knee and hip rehabilitation device for stroke patients. Motorised ball-screw knee drive, passive curved-rail hip guide, redesigned over trials with ten volunteers.

Passive thermal design for a 6U CubeSat. Orbital heat-flux model, duty cycle, transient simulation, and four heatsink iterations for the Ku-band amplifier.
Injection mould toolroom on a high-volume medical device line. Helped cut carbide core pin failures by over 70%, found that over 60% of mould repair time was travel and waiting between departments, and automated purchase approvals from days to under one.
A periscopic rack-and-pinion launcher that stows below the LiDAR plane. Servo sized with a 3× safety factor; all five balls delivered on the final run.
Twenty bracket designs sliced, scored and ranked. The lightest was the worst to print, and a weighted index picked a 19 g design.
Two costed options to automate feeding on a bioplastics line: screw conveyors or suction. Projected 4.5–5.7 month payback; approved, not built.
Deep-tech electrochemical startup. Mechanical, electrical and software work as part of NUS Overseas Colleges Silicon Valley. Also my final-year project.
Part-time, remote. Building the outcome dataset for a multi-year study of whether NUS Overseas Colleges changes graduates' entrepreneurial career paths.
Supported 240+ first-year students through a full design-and-build cycle: concept, CAD, fabrication, Arduino, a working robot. Safety briefings, laser-cutting support, grading and design reviews.
Team lead and mechanical lead on STRIDE, a knee and hip rehabilitation device for stroke patients. NUS Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Prize.
Injection mould toolroom on a high-volume medical device line: root-cause analysis, preventive maintenance and changeovers, plus a Power BI downtime dashboard and an automated purchase-request system.
Designed two costed options to automate feeding on the factory line, approved by the CEO (not built during my internship). Machine SOPs for ISO and OK Compost certification.
National Service. Commissioned officer.
